Jinji, Gao (1942.12.1-): the expert of equipment diagnosis engineering, born in Liaoning. He graduated from the Beijing institute of chemical technology in 1966 and received his Ph.D. in engineering from Tsinghua University in 1993. He is a professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology and holds the post of the director of academic committee. He was also the former deputy chief engineer of Liaoyang petrochemical company in Petrochina. He served as the vice president of China vibration engineering society for two terms and the vice president of China equipment management association. He has been awarded the title of national middle-aged and young expert with remarkable contributions in science and technology. He was the chief scientist for the 973 project at ministry of science and technology and the 973 chief scientist of national defense.
Now, he is the vice director for the special equipment specialized committee of the state council expert advisory committee on the safety production committee, the expert consultant for China association of equipment management, the branch president of institute of China vibration diagnostic equipment, the director of the joint laboratory for aviation equipment laboratory at the research institute of air force aviation equipment and aviation engine vibration monitoring laboratory at the Beijing university of chemical technology and the director of Beijing key laboratory for the equipment health monitoring and self-cure for advanced machinery.
In 1979, he was the first to develop and apply a diagnosis and dynamic balancing technology into domestic industrial enterprises. He established the condition monitoring and diagnosis center of Sinopec and held the post of the director in 1994.
He established the center for diagnostics and self-healing engineering in 2001 and the institute of engine health monitoring in 2016. Moreover, the principle of "the self cure of equipment failure” was put forward by him in the international academic circles in 2003.
In recent years, he has been awarded the provincial and ministerial science and technology advancement award, the third prize of science and technology in Beijing and the second prize of national teaching achievement. In addition, he published more than 100 papers and published two books including “the diagnosis and self-cure of machine failure". In 2016, the 28th session of the international monitoring diagnosis and maintenance management (COMADEM) conference was held for the first time in China and academician Gao served as the chairman.
In 2016, he was awarded the lifetime achievement award in the advanced field of project asset management by the world engineering asset management association. He was elected the academician of Chinese academy of engineering in 1999.
