[News from the News Center] On November 17, 2018, the FLTRP English Public Speaking Contest (Hebei District) was held in Hebei Normal University. YSU five contestants led by Chen Tianhui, teacher of the School of Foreign Studies, participate in the competition. After arduous preparations and fierce competition, both teachers and students won awards in this competition: Bian Ya, a teacher of the School of Foreign Studies, won the First Prize of the Youth Teacher Group; Zhang Zheng won the First Prize of the English Major Group; Li Jiyan and Wang Feiyu, teachers of the School of Foreign Studies received the first prize and the second prize of the instructor respectively. Gao Ting and Du Jing from the School of Foreign Studies, won the Third Prize and Second Prize in Japanese Language Major Group and English Language Major Group respectively; Liu Naiyuan and Wang Xiaochen from the School of Electrical Engineering won the Third Prize in Non-English Major Group.

FLTRP English Public Speaking Contest is jointly sponsored by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, the Foreign Language Teaching Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Education among other institutions. Since its inception, the contest with its larger number of participants and quality has become one of the contests on the highest level. The contest creates a platform for students to stimulate foreign language learning, demonstrate comprehensive ability, and cultivate outstanding talents.
