On the morning of November 17, the online signing ceremony of the cooperation of the overseas student reserve base between Yanshan University and Bentong Chinese Town Hall in Negeri Pahang of Malaysia was successfully held. Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai, former Minister of the Ministry of Transport of Malaysia and consultant of Bentong Chinese Town Hall in Negeri Pahang of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Low Long Yang, President of Bentong Chinese Town Hall in Negeri Pahang of Malaysia, Huang Shaoxuan, Vice President of the United Chinese School Teachers’ Association Of Malaysia (UCSTAM), and Zhang Runxuan, Secretary of Hebei Province Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Malaysia, attended the Malaysia venue for the signing ceremony of agreement; Zhao Dingxuan, President of Yanshan University, Chen Guoqiang, Vice President of YSU, and heads of relevant departments of YSU attended the venue of Yanshan University for the signing ceremony of agreement. Ji Zhenqi, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Education Department of Hebei, Li Gang, Head of the External Cultural Relations Culture Department of the Hebei Branch of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and Datuk Yang Anshan, the Chief Financial Officer of the United Chinese School Teachers’ Association Of Malaysia (UCSTAM), participated in the meeting online as special guests.
Zhao Dingxuan, President of Yanshan University, introduced the main achievements and teaching advantages of Yanshan University since its establishment to the guests and was full of hope for the future of cooperation between Yanshan University and Bentong Chinese Town Hall in Negeri Pahang of Malaysia. As an institution of higher education with a history of more than 100 years, Yanshan University, taking the initiative to meet the requirements of the opening strategy for national education as the starting point, made every effort to promote the connotative and high-quality development of education work for foreign students in China. The signing of the cooperation agreement of the overseas student reserve base between Yanshan University and Bentong Chinese Town Hall in Negeri Pahang of Malaysia, is of special form and great significance. He expressed his hope that the two sides should take this signing as an opportunity to further promote exchanges and cooperation in a pragmatic way.

Datuk Seri Low Long Yang expressed his thanks to the representatives of both sides who participated in the signing ceremony. He said that Malaysia and China have always maintained a friendly and cooperative partnership. The friendly exchanges between Malaysia and China are not limited to certain forms, and this in-depth cooperation can not only strengthen the ties between Yanshan University and Bentong Chinese Town Hall in Negeri Pahang of Malaysia and the cooperation of both countries, but also enable outstanding students of Bentong to enter Yanshan University to take up advanced studies. He hoped that the two sides can continue to deepen this cooperation and provide more opportunities for outstanding students in Malaysia. At the same time, he stressed that young Malaysian students should cherish and seize this opportunity to strive to expand their knowledge level, and build stronger employment competitiveness so as to make contributions to the social development of Malaysia.

In his speech, Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai pointed out that in the context of the high-quality development initiative of "Belt and Road Initiative", Malaysia and China have not only carried out interaction and cooperation in politics, trade and other fields but also worked together in education, culture and other fields and achieved gratifying results. This cooperation will definitely further promote the progress of both sides in the field of teachers and students' learning and exchange, and he also expressed his hope to take the cooperation between the two universities as a foundation to drive more universities and educational institutions in Malaysia to carry out more communication and cooperation with Yanshan University.

The establishment of this overseas high-quality student source base will further promote the international cooperation and exchange between YSU and universities in Malaysia, attract more outstanding Malaysian youth to study in YSU, and promote the teaching quality and efficiency of education work for foreign students in China.
According tothe idea of "building a base, creating a platform, and developing a network", Yanshan University actively broadens and deepens the channels of international student enrollment, and strives to strengthen the construction of student reserve bases at home and abroad. Up to now, as many as 5 domestic and foreign high schools and educational institutions have jointly built a reserve base for international students in China with YSU.
