Recently, Yanshan University and the University of Toledo signed an agreement to jointly establish the "Toledo Institute of Yanshan University", which is the first overseas educational institution established by Yanshan University in North America.
The University of Toledo and Yanshan University enjoy a friendship that dates back 37 years. The cooperation areas cover teachers' visits, students' study abroad, mutual visits of delegations of teachers and students, joint construction of the Confucius Institute, online joint teaching, joint degree training and overseas internship practice. In the past 37 years, the two universities have continuously deepened and expanded cooperation channels, and gradually explored a cooperation model more suitable for the development of both sides. The Toledo Institute of Yanshan University is a new cooperative institution established by the two universities on the basis of close cooperation for many years and after many rounds of communication and consultation. It is a milestone in the deep cooperation between the two universities and an active exploration of a new model of Sino-U.S. cultural and people-to-people exchanges and cooperation.
According to the agreement, the two universities will jointly set up an advisory committee to guide the overall operation of the Toledo Institute of Yanshan University and provide suggestions for the cooperation and development of the two universities. The Toledo Institute of Yanshan University will continue to serve as a bridge to inherit and deepen the cooperation between the two universities, carry out teacher-student exchanges, cultural exploration, joint enrollment and training of the two universities, launch various academic and cultural exchanges, continue to promote projects such as joint training of dual masters of education and training of health care talents, and carry out international Chinese education and other non-academic education, thus becoming a platform connecting the sister cities of Qinhuangdao and Toledo. The institute will become a platform and brand for deepened cooperation between the two universities. It will help Yanshan University introduce overseas high-quality educational resources, promote the international operation of the university, and continuously enhance the international popularity and influence of Yanshan University.
