YSU Wins Six 2025 Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards

The award recipients for the 2025 Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award were recently announced. YSU received six awards for projects it led or participated in, comprising one Grand Prize, three Second Prizes, and two Third Prizes.

Among the winning projects, Associate Professor Wang Dongcheng contributed to “Key Technologies and Development of Equipment Series for Precision and High-Efficiency Cold Rolling of Ultra-Thin Strips,” which received a Grand Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress. Professor Ba Kaixian led “Key Technologies and Applications of Low-Level Hydraulic Leg Control for Legged Robot,” winner of a Second Prize for Technological Invention. Professor Hua Changchun contributed to “Development and Application of Intelligent Firefighting Robot Series for Petrochemical Deflagration Environments,” which received a Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress. Associate Professor Yu Chao contributed to “Development and Application of Rolling-Based Forming Equipment for Special Energy-Field Plate and Tube Materials,” which was awarded a Second Prize for Technological Invention.

The Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award is a comprehensive national science and technology award for the machinery industry, and the industry's highest science and technology award. Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology and accredited by the National Office for Science & Technology Awards, it aims to award institutions and individuals with outstanding scientific and technological contributions to the machinery industry.
