Recently, the winners of the globally renowned design competition “Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2025” were officially announced. The main visual and logo design of Step into Henan, Read China, created by a student team including Zuo Sixue under the guidance of Wang Yifan and Liu Weishang from the School of Arts and Design, stood out among numerous entries worldwide and won the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2025. This marks the second consecutive year that YSU has received the award, highlighting its sustained recognition by international authorities for excellence in design innovation and international influence.

Founded in 1955, the Red Dot Award is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading design awards. The Red Dot Award, the iF DESIGN AWARD, and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) are collectively regarded as the “world’s three major design awards”. It is known for its rigorous evaluation criteria, which emphasize originality, functionality, aesthetic quality, and social value. The award-winning project was jointly developed by the YSU team and Sanwanji (Beijing) Network Technology Co., Ltd., with strong support from the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education. It fully showcases YSU’s latest design advances and core achievements in collaborative innovation within the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region. YSU’s two consecutive wins not only highlights its achievements in design education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation and entrepreneurship practice, but also demonstrates the sustained competitiveness of its faculty and students on the international design stage.
