Academic Report: The Artistic Charm of Bel Canto

Lecturer: Prof. Li Zhang

About the Lecturer: Li Zhang, a Chinese soprano living in America, is the tenth and the eleventh CPPCC Standing Committee member of Sichuan Province. She was the former director, professor and graduate supervisor of Department of Opera and Chorus, Sichuan Conservatory of Music. What’s more, she is a visiting professor of People's Liberation Army Arts College, the Honorary Doctor of Arts at Perry Willimon University and Lincoln University in the USA, and a professor in vocal music at Colorado State University.She successively studied under the guidance of Zhilan Gao, Bingrui Wang, and Mrs. Roland(the soprano of the Metropolitan Opera).Besides, Dr. Zhang played the heroine in "Thunderstorm", "Sister Jiang", "Don Juan", "the Career of the Artist", "The Lady of the Camellias", "Madame Butterfly", "Rusalka" and other classic opera works.
