Speaker Introduction

Taiwan scholar, Prof. Ding Zhenchen is a Director of the New Media Department of Beijing Institute of Fashion, visiting scholar of the Virtual Reality Research Institute of Dawan District, Guangzhou, part-time master supervisor of the School of Software and Microelectronics of Peking University, and member of the Information and Interaction Design Committee of China Industrial Design Association. He received his PhD degree from the School of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, Postdoctoral Fellow, School of Design, Politecnico di Milano, Italy. He is also Cross-border architects and Internet architects, in the 1990s. He came to Beijing in 2003 and has participated in many international cooperation projects and national research projects. He has been invited to give speeches at international companies such as Oracle, Cisco, Daimler and Yahoo. He has published more than 30 papers among other academic achievements.

Lecture Content

The Metropolitan Bedroom, launched in Beijing Fashion Institute in 2014, is the first research project in college to comprehensively explore “sleep design”.Its content includes lifestyle brand planning, food design, digital entertainment design, sleep space planning, the design of books about sleep, sleep movies, sleep information visualization, smart home and furniture product design.

The Metropolitan Room explores the pains of life of young people, creating a healthy and beautiful lifestyle for them and enhancing their well-being. We are trying to better integrate technology applications into our bedrooms, provide users with quality life advice, and provide an indoor micro-environment for their better sleep.
