This contest attracted 16928 teams from more than 20 countries and regions, including: United States, China, Canada, Finland, Britain, and Australia. It is the first time that Liren College has independently organized students to participate. With the overall arrangement of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center, Department of Mathematics organized teachers to train students to compete on the same stage with students from Harvard University, Princeton University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University and other internationally well-known universities. Finally, Liren College achieved a breakthrough in the participation of this international event, which fully demonstrates its education level andstudents’ innovationcapacities.

Organized by American Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications (COMAP), the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM) is the most influential mathematical modeling contest worldwide, the only international mathematical modeling contest, and the originator of all kinds of current mathematical modeling contests. The contest covers many fields, such as, economy, management, environment, resources, ecology, medicine, security, future technology and so on. Within 4 days, a team consisted of three students (undergraduate) is required to finish the whole solution to specified problems, including: modeling, solving, verifying and paper writing, which demonstrates their ability in studying and solving problems, and their teamwork spirit.
