【News from News Center】On Apr. 22nd, the Inaugural Meeting of YSU Alumni Society at Shanxi, namely the Second Conference for Alumni Ambassadors and Secretaries of YSU Alumni Societies, was held in the Conference Hall of Boee Longy Center in Xi’an, Shanxi Province. Attending the conference were over 100 Alumni from Shanxi and over 50 Alumni Ambassadors and Secretaries of 19 alumni societies. YSU President Xiangdong Kong was invited to the meeting on behalf of YSU.

Junjie Guo, 1984 Graduate majoring in Forging and Stamping is making a speech at the conference.
Mi Wu, 2003 graduate majoring in Tourism, gave a report about preparatory work for the Meeting on behalf of the committee of Shanxi Alumni Society. The Meeting approved of theRegulations of Shanxi Alumni Societyand elected the first council and council members. Elected Alumni Ambassador, Junjie Guo said that with a growing alumni number, he would serve for and build communication platforms for Shanxi Alumni.
Other Alumni societies at Shenzhen, Beijing, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Heilongjiang, Dalian, and Jiaodong congratulated on the establishment of Shanxi Alumni Society.Junjie Guo, on behalf of Shanxi Society, awarded certificates of honor to Jiyong Feng and others for their sponsorship. YSU vice president Xiangdong Kong and head of the Alumni Office Honglei Sun granted silk banner and name brand to the society. A Shanxi alumnus shared his feelings of being helped by other alumni after a tragic experience, and expressed his gratitude to all.

Vice president Xiangdong Kong introduced to alumni the development of YSU, as well as the challenges and opportunities of“Double First-Rate”. He sorted out the development and achievements of the alumni association, described a blueprint for the next three years, and invited alumni to visit a new YSU at its coming Centennial Anniversary and to witness the development of YSU. He said that the alumni association should aim at serving all the alumni, YSU and the country. Meanwhile, he also said all the alumni should stick to YSU spirit: hardworking, truth-seeking and innovation.

Held on the afternoon of Apr. 22nd, the Second Conference for Alumni Ambassadors and Secretaries of YSU Alumni Societies was hosted by Honglei Sun, Curator of YSU Archives (Head of the Alumni Office). Ambassadors and Secretaries shared their experiences and proposed suggestions on the development of YSU Alumni Association, including: the establishment of regulations for the management alumni societies, collection of alumni information, quick response to Xiongan New District, cooperative opportunities for alumni to work with enterprises in Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta, and the introduction of board system into YSU management.

Heads of Scientific Research Office,Admissions and Career Development Services, YSU high-tech zone, and Liren College were invited to give reports about their work. Honglei Sun, head of Alumni Office, answered some questions and promised that YSU would put good suggestions into practice. At last, he expressed his expectations that all the alumni contribute to the development of YSU.Speaking highly of alumni association, Vice president Xiangdong Kong hoped that alumni association could bridge YSU and alumni. He also expressed a good wish that all the alumni work together to push the constructionof “Double First-Rate”.
