[News from the News Center] On September 6, the Third Cross-Strait University Presidents Forum was held in Changchun and our university was invited to attend in the forum. YSU President Zhao Dingxuan gave a keynote speech entitled “Building a solid virtue foundation and reforming for development”. Zhang Bojun, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the People’s Revolution, Li Jinghao, Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, Minister of the United Front Department, and An Lijia, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Jilin Province, attended the meeting.
The theme of this forum is “Thinking and Changing - A New Era for Universities”. Zhang Xi, President of Jilin University, Lin Shengfen, Vice President of Tsinghua University of Taiwan and 12 other university presidents from mainland China and Taiwan district made keynote speeches.

Our President Zhao Dingxuan introduced YSU’s development from five aspects: the characteristics, comprehensive strength, experience and practice, and future development orientation. After listeningtothe speech, the participants highly appraised the achievements of YSU in recent years. Our university’s influence and social reputation has been enhanced in the universities on both sides.
It is reported that this forum is sponsored by Zhongshan Cultural Exchange Association of China, Jilin Provincial Education Department, Jilin Provincial Committee of the People’s Republic of China Revolution and Taiwan Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Jilin Province. There are 11 universities including Tsinghua University of Taiwan and Taiwan Art University, as well as more than 50 presidents of mainland universities such as Jilin University and Wuhan University attended the forum.
