YSU Professor Zhao Shanjun was invited to hold a painting exhibition in Vienna

[News from the News Center ]From September 26 to October 9, YSU Professor Zhao Shanjun was invited to hold a painting exhibition at the Slovenian Cultural Center in Vienna, Austria. This exhibition is the first time that the Slojanian Cultural Center has invited Chinese painters to organize exhibitions in the past 10 years. This exhibition is based on the expression of Chinese traditional painting and the theme of the Great Wall, introducing Chinese traditional art and Great Wall culture to the world. A total of 15 paintings were exhibited, which attracted great attention and interests from the local people and the media. The European Times interviewed and reported on Professor Zhao Shanjun and the exhibition.

Professor Zhao Shanjun’s series of “Traditional Chinese painting Great Wall” shows the Austrian Great Wall with the magnificent momentum and delicateexpression of the mountains and rivers of China.

The series work of “Great Wall”shows the scene of the “Moon Gate”, the landmark building of the Great Wall in Guangwu City, Shanxi. The building collapsed in the fall of 2016 and has become a memory forever in people's hearts.

“Great Wall”

Zhao Shanjun is a professor at the School of Art and Design ofYSU, a supervisor for postgraduates, Director of the Department of Integrated Painting, Director of the Hebei Provincial Artists Association, and vice chairman of the Qinhuangdao Artists Association. Professor Zhao Shanjun is dedicated to the study of the Great Wall Culture and Chinese Folk Art. Over the past decade, he has visited the Great Wall of Hebei, Liaoning, Tianjin, Beijing, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Gansu and other places, and has hiking hundreds of kilometers. He pays attention to the incomplete wild Great Wall and creates paintings in the form of ink and ink. He records Great Wall as much as possible. He hopes to evoke more people to protect the Great Wall and the “civilizations that are about to disappear”. In recent years, Professor Zhao has been invited to hold traditional Chinese painting exhibitions and joint exhibitions in Poland, Germany, Austria and other countries to contribute to the protection and publicity of the Great Wall.
