YSU School of Art and Design wins two major national awards

[News from the News Center] Recently, the Department of Visual Communication of YSU School of Art and Design wins awards in the 11th National College Student Advertising Art Competition and the 2020 Chinese University Zodiac Design Competition.

In the 11th National College Student Advertising Art Competition, the entries supervised by teacher Qin Chunwei: “mask advertisement” by Yin Xingli and Hou Jianyu, “natural appearance” by Xiang Jieyu and Liu Yufei, won the national second prize. In this competition, students of the Department of Visual Communication won a total of 2 national second prizes, 2 excellent prizes, 8 first prizes in Hebei Province, 5 second prizes, 33 third prizes, and 58 outstanding prizes. Eight instructors won the honorary title of Outstanding Instructor, Mr. Liu Weishang won the Individual Outstanding Organization Award, and Yanshan University won the Outstanding Organization Award in the 11th College Advertising Art Competition on Hebei Province.

In 2020 the Sixth Chinese University Zodiac Design Competition, teachers and students of the Department of Visual Communication of Yanshan University won some awards. The work supervised by teacher Ou Xinju “Geometric Art Mouse” designed by Gao Yi, Wang Rui, and Li Yuxin, won the gold prize out of nearly 7,000 works.

The National University Student Advertising Art Competition (NUSAAC) is China's largest university advertising art communication platform. It is under the guidance of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Journalism and Communication Professional Teaching Steering Committee, and the China Higher Education Association Advertising Education Professional Committee. The Chinese Zodiac Design Contest is hosted by Shandong Academy of Arts and Design and Shandong Comics Association and has been held for six consecutive years. This event has a high degree of professional recognition.

The Department of Visual Communication Design has won awards in seven national and provincial major events in 2019. It is the result of the continuous optimization of the dynamic training and certification system of “Projects orientation-government certification-student involvement” in recent years. It is the embodiment of insisting on the reform of classroom teaching based on the OBE mode, the extension of the practice teaching reform and the innovative teaching reform mode, and the realization of the theory-fusion-practice professional mode.
