[News from the news center] Recently, the MoE officially announced the selection of the 2017Changjiang ScholarAward Program. Prof. Hua Changchun of the School of Electrical Engineering of YSU was selected asChangjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor. He is the only one selected in Hebei Province.

The “Changjiang Scholar Award Program” is a special high-level talent plan established by the China MoE and the Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Foundation to raise the academic status of China's higher education institutions and revitalize higher education in China. The program consists of the implementation of the special position of Changjiang Scholar Professor and Changjiang Scholar Achievement Award. In order to implement the Outline of the National Medium and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan (2010-2020) and the Outline of the National Medium- and Long-Term Talent Development Plan (2010-2020), the MoE has initiated a new “Changjiang Scholar Award” since 2011. This scheme,as an important part of the national major talent project, forms a national high-level talent training support system together with the "Overseas High-level Talent Introduction Plan" and the "Young Talent Development Plan". The “Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor" is a fixed term position – 5 years and enjoys a bonus of RMB 200,000 per year during the term.
Prof. Hua Changchun is currently the Deputy Dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Electrical Engineering of YSU. He has conducted collaborative research at City University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore, Carleton University of Canada and Duisburg-Essen University in Germany. Prof. Hua Changchun is mainly engaged in the research of complex nonlinear hysteresis dynamic system analysis and synthesis, networked control system design, and robot remote operation system control and application.
Prof. Hua has achieved outstanding scientific research results in the areas such as the strict feedback structure, the nonlinear lag power system control, the decentralized coordinated control of the complex associative lag large-scale system, the intelligent control of the nonlinear lag dynamic system, and the control of the power system in the complex network environment. He has presided over 5 National Natural Science Funds (NNSF) projects and 1 Hebei Outstanding Young Scientists Fund project. He has been awarded funding from the Ontario Innovation Research Fund (Canada), the Humboldt Foundation of Germany, and the China National Outstanding Young Scientists Fund. The NNSF project he completed was rated as “Excellent”.
He has published 139 SCI-index papers in some prestigious journals such as the IEEE Trans., Automatic Control, Automatica among other top journals in the field. His SCI papers were cited 2578 times. It has successively been selected as a “New Talent in the New Century” by the MoE, a “Leading Scientist in Science and Technology Innovation” by the Ministry of Science and Technology, a “Young Top-notch Talent” in the national “Ten Thousand Talent Program”, and the “Top-level Talent” in Hebei Province’s “Three-level Talent Program”. He was selected as Elservier Chinese High Citation Scholars three times. He won the first prize of the “MoE Natural Sciences” three times, “Hebei Province 5.4 Youth Medal” one time, and “Hebei Youth Science and Technology Award” one time.
The success of the application ofChangjiang Scholar Distinguished Professoris the result of joint efforts of various departments at all levels. It plays an important role in promoting the work of building high-level talent team and implementing the strategy of strengthening YSU through talents at YSU.
