About the Lecturer:Jin Yong, an expert in chemical engineering, a Beijing native, isnowa professor and doctoralsupervisorof the Department of Chemical Engineering atTsinghua University. He was elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1997.In 1959, Prof. Jingraduated from the Ural Institute of Technologyofthe former Soviet Union with a bachelor's degree.He studied theflow patterns of gas-solid turbulent fluidization, proposed the mechanism models and quantitative criteria of the flow pattern transformation, andinventedanew type of compoundinternals in turbulent fluidized bed,which improvedthe qualityoffluidization andsolvedthe problemofengineeringscale-up. Theresearch fruits had beensuccessfullyappliedto guide sixtypes ofprocessingtechnologiesandtoretrofitand designmore than 30massiveindustrial fluidized bed reactors.Prof. Jin has beenawarded the Second PrizeofNational InventionAwardin 1987, the Second PrizeofNationalAward forScientificand Technological Progress in 1995, and more than ten provincial and ministerial awards. He hasobtained overten technical patents, and has published more than 300 academic papers and two monographs. On June1st, 2016,Prof. Jinwas grantedthe 11thEngineering Award ofGuanghua Engineering Technology Award.
His main research areasareliquefaction chemical reaction engineering and eco-industrial engineering.Prof. Jinisnowa member of the advisory groupforthe International Conference on Circulating Fluidized Beds and Fluidization Technology,the Executive Director ofCIESC and Chinese Society of Particuology,the Vice Chairman of the China SocietyforEcological Economics, theDirector ofIndustrial Ecological Economyand Technology Special Committee, the consultant of the Chinese Societyfor Environmental Sciences, andthe civil planning consultant andmember of the review committeeforthe Circular Economy Pilot Parksof the National Development and Reform Commission.
