Time: 2:30pm, May 23, (Wednesday), 2018
Venue: Room 211, Architecture Building, East Campus
Lecturer: Zhang Zhao
Lecturer introduction:Dr. Zhang Zhao is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Dalian University of Technology. Dr. Zhang’s main research interest is mechanics in manufacturing process. In 2012, he was selected into the New Century Excellent Talent Support Program of the Ministry of Education. He has published more than 100 periodical papers, 3 monographs, and 1 national invention patent. His paper’s citation is more than 600 times in SCI and the H factor is 15. He has served as reviewers for more than 20 international journals and more than 10 domestic journals. He has served as editorial board members for 3 mathematical journals such as Mathematical Problems in Engineering (SCI). He also served as a communication review expert for the National Natural Science Foundation of China and served as a communications assessment expert for the Portuguese Science and Technology Fund. He is a doctoral dissertation reviewer for some institutions such as IIT, NIST and AU.
Lecture content:The lecture intends to explore some mechanical problems in friction stir welding, friction stir additive manufacturing, laser 3D printing and other manufacturing processes and the corresponding research methods, which mainly include the numerical simulation of Monte Carlo particulate growth and its application in friction stir welding/stirred friction additive manufacturing, and laser 3D printing. The lecture also involves the content of the numerical simulation of microstructures based on the phase field method and its application in laser melting additive manufacturing and laser sintering additive manufacturing practice. Finally, the optimization and design method of phononic crystals.
All are welcome!
