Qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) is a new research method combining qualitative and quantitative methods. In recent years, QCA has begun to become popular in the fields of sociology, management, and political science. In this lecture, Professor Du Yunzhou will combine his own research experience, analyze the academic topic selection and research experience, and take the QCA method as an example to introduce how to carry out the new paradigm of humanistic social science research.
Speaker Introduction
Prof. Du Yunzhou is a Doctor in Management. He is a Doctoral Supervisor of Southeast University. Vice Chairman of the China Enterprise Management Research Association, Director of the Management Philosophy Committee of the China Enterprise Management Research Association, Director of the China Management Model Outstanding Awards Council, and one of the 50 members of the Advisory Committee of the International Comparison Method (QCA) Expert Network COMPASSS Association. He is a visiting scholar at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He was awarded the “Special Award” by the Nankai University Doctoral Excellence Scholarship and the title of “Nankai Ten Excellences” (2009). His main research areas: configuration perspective and QCA methodology, organizational legitimacy and institutional logic theory, maker space and innovation entrepreneurship, strategic choice of fading organizations, business environment ecology and entrepreneurship, management philosophy. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Management (AOM), a member of the International Association of Management Studies (IACMR), the Quarterly Journal of Management (Field Editor), Journal of Management (Member of the Expert Committee of the Chinese Entrepreneurship Management Thoughts), Foreign Economics and Management” (Oriental Management Editorial Board), “Finance and Trade Research” (Editor's Committee) among other rewards.
