(News from News Center) On the morning of August 23, Beijing High-tech 2016 Innovative Entrepreneurship activity for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region University Students was launched in Beidaihe New District. The event was co-hosted by Beijing Hi-Tech University Union, Hebei Education Department, QHD Municipal People's Government, and co-organized by Beidaihe New District Management Committee, QHD Bureau of Education and YSU. 27 colleges and universities from Beijing Hi-Tech University Union, Tianjin and Hebei Province participated in this event.
Ning Xu, Deputy Governor of Hebei Province, Jing Li, Deputy Secretary-general of the provincial government, Jiaomin Liu, Director of the Provincial Education Department, Tingshan Wang, Deputy Director of the Provincial Education Department, Yong Yang, Dean of Institute of Hebei Provincial Education and Examination, Xiangwei Meng, QHD Municipal Party Committee Secretary, Ruishu Zhang, QHD Mayor, Zhiyong Feng and Ruyan Lian, QHD Vice Mayors, attended the launching ceremony, as well as representatives of QHD enterprises and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region University students. Baoqi Liu, member of Municipal Standing Committee and Secretary of Beidaihe New District Working Committee chaired the ceremony.
Vice Governor Ning Xu said in his speech, the provincial government will focus on supporting the cooperation between Beijing High-Tech University Union and QHD, push Beijing Hi-Tech University Union with the support of Beidaihe New District to speed up scientific achievement transformation efforts.

Weidong Meng, YSU Party Secretary, at the launching ceremony made a keynote speech entitled “Boosting coordinated development of higher education and regional economy in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region”. He said that colleges and universities in the region should reasonably position their development, optimize the adjustment of discipline structure, enhance independent innovation capability, push industrial development and regional development with scientific research achievements, strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship education, and train innovative personnel in line with regional development requirements. He also proposed that colleges and universities in this region should deepen their cooperation and optimize the integration of regional higher education resources to achieve synergistic development and enhance overall competitiveness of Higher Education in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region.

Beidaihe New District signed scientific achievements transformation contracts with 12 institutes of higher education, including Beijing University of Chemical Technology and YSU. Tianye Communications signed a contract with YSU on computer analysis of mental structure of 850-ton beam machine. QHD Guangcai Service Industry Group signed an agreement with YSU on community healthcare and emergency rescue service system development. On the signing ceremony, QHD Mayor Ruishu Zhang, YSU President Hongmin Liu and other leaders launched the online trade platform of China Technology Exchange Beidaihe Station.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, the seminar of high-level Engineering Education focused on three major themes: coordinated development strategy between Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei; the collaboration between government, industry, academia and research; and training of higher-level engineering personnel. YSU President Hongmin Liu, Hebei University of Technology President Jianguo and other representatives from universities and enterprises were interviewed. YSU President Hongmin Liu said that, Science and Engineering are great and Engineering educators should have confidence in engineering education; and that engineering education should adhere to the demand-oriented standard, focus on general education and enhance engineering practice.

On the afternoon of the 22nd, Vice Governor Ning Xu met with representatives of Beijing High-Tech University Union and some universities in Tianjin and Hebei. YSU President Hongmin Liu said after joining Beijing Hi-Tech University Union, YSU benefited a lot and played a due role in the union. He introduced YSU and put forward the idea of coordinated communication among the universities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region.
Beijing Hi-Tech University Union was established on October 19, 2011, consisted of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, North China Electric Power University, Harbin Engineering University, Xi'an University of Electronic Science and TechnologyatBeijing, China University of Mining at Beijing, China University of Petroleum at Beijing, and YSU.
On June 28, 2015, Beijing Hi-Tech University Union signed agreements and contracts with QHD municipal government. According to the agreements, the Union will work with Baidaihe New District as its base, give full play to its advantages in electronic information, internet, communications, railways, highways, transportation, and new materials and deepen its cooperation with QHD.
