[News from News Center] MOHURD issued the Announcement on the Result of Professional Assessment (certification) of YSU Civil Engineering Program (Professional Assessment of Civil Engineering Program〔2017〕No. 85). YSU Civil Engineering Program obtained the professional assessment (certification) of MOHURD effective for 6 years (from May 2017 to May 2023) after discussion and voting by Higher Education Evaluation Committee for Civil Engineering Program, which is the second time YSU Civil Engineering Program has obtained the professional assessment (certification) since 2012.
Established in 1992, YSU Civil Engineering Program began to enroll undergraduates in three majors in 1994, namely Building Construction Engineering, Road & Bridge Engineering, and Geotechnical & Underground Engineering. It was authorized to confer Master’s degree in Structural Engineering in 2000 and Architecture & Civil Engineering in 2006. In addition, it was authorized to establish first-class discipline Master degree program in 2011. In recent years, following the requirements of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei collaborative development, YSU Civil Engineering Program always supports the research and development of civil engineering, and focuses on training students with solid theoretical foundations, outstanding practical ability, and innovation consciousness.
Taking the assessment (certification) as an opportunity, YSU Civil Engineering Program, in accordance with the requirements of "first-class" programs, will continue to develop the program to further promote the reform and monitoring mechanism of personnel training mode, improve students training, and form its brand and characteristics to make greater contribution to the development of the society and industry.
