YSU Scored High in National Chemical Engineering Experiment Competition for College Students

[News from News Center] Recently, 1stNational Chemical Engineering Experiment Competition final for College Students ended. Yanyu Shanhai Team, consisting of senior Chemical Engineering and Technology majors Zheng Tang, Lubin Yang and Jing zhou from YSU School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, won Second Prize in the national final. Teachers from School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering Quan Huo, Wei Zhang, and Jianxin Kang instructed the team.

Sponsored by Chemical Engineering Specialty Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education and China Education Association of Chemical Industry, and hosted by Tianjin University, the competition attracted 326 teams from Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Xiamen University, Nanjing University and other 190 universities. After rounds of competing in 6 districts (Northeast, North China, East China, Northwest, Southwest, and Middle-of-South), 64 teams entered into the national final. In North China district, Yanyu Shanhai Team won the First Prize, thus qualified for the national final.

The competition aims to practiceMade in China 2025 national strategy, promote the construction of New Engineering in chemical engineering specialty, improve teaching quality of core chemical courses, strengthen engineering comprehensive competence, stimulate students’interest and enthusiasm, and provide intellectual support to Chinese petroleum and chemical industry today.

Theoretical knowledge, comprehensive experimenting competence and scientific quality were examined as well as collaboration of student teams, anduniversity’scapability to train students.

Supported by school leaders and teachers, competitors prepared carefully, exercised actively, and showed elegant demeanor and spirit of YSU through their outstanding performance.
