The 30th “Voice of YSU” – Campus Singing Competition Rounded Off

[News from News Center] On Nov. 26^th, the final of the 30^th“Voice of YSU” – campus singing competition was held at 109, Student Activity Center, East Campus. After heated competition, Shuohui Yang from School of Arts and Design won the championship, Yu Gu from School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics the runner-up, and Peiyun Wang from Liren College of Yanshan University the third place and the Most Popularity Award. Leaders from Communist Youth League YSU Committee, Student Affairs Office and School of Arts and Design attended the competition.

The 30^th“Voice of YSU” attracted about 1200 students, and 10 stood out successfully to the final after the audition, the preliminary competition, and the semi-final. The final was divided into four sessions. In the first session, the ten competitors showed their different styles: passionate, affectionate, or subtle, bringing a wonderful audio-visual feast for the audience with the splendid lights on the stage. In the second session, 4 previous Top Ten singers of “Voice of YSU”, who have already graduated, came back all the way from Beijing, Cangzhou, and Baoding to compete with the new Top Ten singers and celebrate the 30^thanniversary of “Voice of YSU”. All the competitors displayed their outstanding singing skills with sincere feelings, providing an auditory enjoyment for the audience.

After three sessions of competition, Shuohui Yang, Yu Gu, and Peiyun Wang entered the last session. 5 professional judges, 10 previous Top Ten singers of “Voice of YSU” and 5 public judges voted one after another, and Shuohui Yang won the championship. It was not only the singing skills and courage of competitors that moved the audience, but also the strong friendship among them and the spirit of mutual encouragement. They constantly encouraged and applauded for each other, deeply touching the audience and leaving an strong impression on YSU students.
