At the signing ceremony, Liu Hongmin extended warm welcome to the leaders from Hebei Provincial and Qinhuangdao Municipal Bureau of Statistics and Qinhuangdao Government, and hoped that the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two sides could provide a strong support for the project of “Qinhuangdao Public Opinion Center-YSU Data Collection and Analysis Laboratory”, and created a new model for cooperation between universities and local government at a high level. Lian Ruyan said that YSU had an impressive concept in social opinion survey technology and management, and that the cooperation between the two sides was promising due to the demand of Qinhuangdao Government and Qinhuangdao Municipal Bureau of Statistics for public opinion. On the basis of the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement, the two sides should implement the details as soon as possible, and cooperate rapidly in the fields of talent development, technology popularization and innovation research, in order to achieve the common growth of YSU and Qinhuangdao Government. Shi Zaoyue first stressed the significance of the establishment of the Public Opinion Center, and congratulated the cooperation between YSU and the Qinhuangdao Municipal Bureau of Statistics. Shi suggested that both sides should continue their efforts to push the cooperation forward to a higher and newer stage.
Qinhuangdao Municipal Bureau of Statistics, an institute directly under Qinhuangdao Government, is responsible for the statistical work in Qinhuangdao and the management of the Qinhuangdao statistical accounting system. As an authoritative institute of data industry, it is also in charge of the organization of investigation tasks required by the state government and Hebei Province, releasing relevant statistics of Qinhuangdao’s economic and social development to the public, and organizing and coordinating Qinhuangdao statistical data processing. The agreement promotes the cooperation to a higher level on the basis of the former one and provides YSU School of Science with a base of innovation and practice for the talent training and discipline construction, which also improves YSU’s capability to serve local economy and society.
