[News from the News Center]From March 31st to April 1st, with the Prof. Chen Bo from Peking University as the chief expert, 2017NSSFC’s significant project academic seminar “Research on the Major Frontier Issues of Contemporary Logic Philosophy” was held at YSU. The project consists of five sub-projects, and YSU is a project cooperation unit. Professor Liu Yetao of the School of Humanities and Law is in charge of one of the sub-projects.
Experts and scholars from the State Council Counselor's Office, the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Nanjing University, Nankai University, Yanshan University and other universities and colleges attended the seminar, including 7 specially invited experts and 17 members of the research group.
Yan Sheng, YSU’s Vice President attended the seminar and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony and the seminar were chaired by Professor Yuan Xumei, Director of the Department of Social Sciences of YSU, and Zou Chongli, the Chairman of the Chinese Association of Logic and the researcher of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Huang Sheng, on behalf of YSU, extended a warm welcome to experts and scholars attending the seminar. He introduced the development of YSU and the School of Humanities and Law to the participating experts, and particularly introduced the achievements of the discipline of logic in personnel training and scientific research. It is hoped that this seminar will further enhance academic exchanges and advance the construction of related disciplines.

Chen Bo presented a opening report, in which he made detailed illustration on the overall framework of the project, research contents and key issues, research methodology, research process management, and anticipating results.
The expert group fully affirmed the basic theoretical research value, academic frontier and innovation of the project, the feasibility of the project implementation, and the research strength of the project team. At the same time, it provided some constructive suggestions on how the project is successfully completed and the expected results achieved. It is hoped that the research team can make substantial efforts in the integration of localization and localization, refinement of research, and technicalization. The expert group unanimously agreed to start the research.
At the academic symposium, some scholars and experts from many universities and academic publishing institutions in China such asChinese Social ScienceandPhilosophical Studiesmagazines, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Nankai University, Nanjing University, Southwest University, South China Normal University, and East China Normal University made keynote speeches respectively and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on several frontier issues of contemporary philosophy of logic. The meeting was harmonious and fruitful.
