[News from the News Center] On June 2nd, 2018 the Second National UniversityRun & ShootInvitational Tournament was held in Beijing National Stadium (the Bird’s Nest).YSU team, after 2-day fierce competition, won 2 first prizes, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes, and the total score of the team ranked first place in the Group B of the first division.

Since YSU sport team firstly participated in the National UniversityRun & Shootin 2017, the School of Physical Education has purchased the equipment of theRun & Shootand selected students from YSU schools to conduct training. At the school sports meeting last year, theRun & Shoot, as a demonstration project, gained much popularity from students.
Before the tournament, the School of Physical Education organized some concentrated training for the student athletes. At last, led by Wang Dapeng, the Dean of School of Physical Education and coached by teacher ChenYanlong and Liu Huawei, a team of 9 students from the Liren College, School of Art and Design and School of Physical Education were selected to participate in the competition.Run & Shootis the demonstration of the essence of Olympic modern pentathlon, as shown in the name: the competition combines running with Air Rifle target shooting, which requires athletes’ good physical function and psychological quality. This championship integrates modern technology and traditional sports, worthy of promotion on campus.
Sponsored by Cycling and Fencing Sports Management Center under General Administration of Sport of China, Chinese Modern Pentathlon Association, Beijing Federation of University Sports and National Stadium Co., Ltd, this championship attracted over 480 athletes from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Sport University, Fudan University, University of Science & Technology Beijing, Beijing University of Technology, Capital Normal University, Sun Yat-sen University, Yanshan University, Wuhan University and other 36 universities.
