[News from the News Center] From October 12-16,the 4th China College Students’ “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitionorganized by 13 ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Fujian Province was held at Xiamen University. The “Carcinar Rehabilitation Training System Based on Virtual Scene” project directed by Prof. Wang Hongbo of the School of Mechanical Engineering and the "Cardiovascular Robot Doctor" project led by Prof. Xie Ping of the School of Electrical Engineering won the silver medal in the final of the national competition. In this competition, YSU won 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals. The number and quality of awards ranked first in Hebei Province. After the game, Director Yang Yong of the Education Department of Hebei Province took a group photo with the teachers and students of the teams and wish them contribute to further transform and serve local economic construction and people’s livelihood development.

Since the start of competition inside of YSU in March, the Academic Affairs Office has taken the lead in cooperating with the Student Affairs Office, the Youth League Committee, the National University Science Park and other relevant departments to organize the selection activity. YSU has been widely mobilized and meticulously organized the selection procedures. 803 application projects and 4,204 students were selected and recommended for the competitions at multi-levels.
In recent years, YSU has focused on the core work of educating innovative and entrepreneurial talents, strengthening students’ all-round, three-dimensional and full-coverage innovation and entrepreneurship education by means of high-quality innovation and entrepreneurial competition, OBE education and teaching reform, the educational practice in innovation and entrepreneurship, and the support for the innovative entrepreneurship training program. Under the guidance of YSU leaders, with the strong support and cooperation of relevant departments, the Academic Affairs Office has made remarkable achievements in the construction of innovation and entrepreneurship education system, innovation and entrepreneurship practice education, and innovation and entrepreneurship competition system.
