[News from the News Center] Recently, the bookElectrical and Hydraulic Control Technology of Earth Pressure Balance Shield, Prof. Zhao Jingyi of YSU School of Mechanical Engineering co-authored with Academician Yang Huayong of Zhejiang University, was awarded the 4th Government Publishing Awards. The book was published by Science Press in 2013. It was awarded the National Science and Technology Academic Publications Fund. This is the first time for YSU to receive such national award in the sector of social science.

Electrical and Hydraulic Control Technology of Earth Pressure Balance Shieldis a special work on shield electro-hydraulic control technology at home and abroad. There is a lack of theory in the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and maintenance of large-scale shield equipment electro-hydraulic control system. It is the first monograph in China to comprehensively introduce the electro-hydraulic control technology of earth pressure balance shield.

Prof. Zhao Jingyi is a well-known domestic expert and scholar in the field of large-scale special-purpose vehicle equipment. Prof. Zhao is the founder and chairman of the China Mechanical Engineering Society’s Extra-large Engineering Transportation Vehicle Branch, and has published several high-level monographs by Science Press, Tsinghua Publishing House and Machinery Industry Press in recent years. These works are aimed at the country’s major strategic needs and the frontiers of international disciplines. These books have played an important role in leading national related disciplines to the world’s frontiers, which greatly enhanced the YSU’s international reputation and social influence.
