2019 graduates of the School of Economics and Management donated Magnolia saplings to alma mater

[News from the News Center] On the morning of April 15, the School of Economics and Management held a ceremony of donating and planting trees for graduates. The leaders, graduating counselors and 2019 graduate representatives planted 130 magnolia seedlings. And the nameplates of the “2019 Graduation Forest” were solemnly hung on each tree seedling. This is the fifth year of the school to hold a ceremony for donating and planting trees. In the past five years, the teachers and graduates have planted more than 1,000 seedlings, adding a total of thousands of square meters of green space to the university.

Since 2014, the School of Economics and Management has responded to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s call for planting trees, incorporating environmental improvement into the annual work plan. The school encourages its staff and students to actively get involved in the activity of environment protection. After several years of hard work, the School of Economics and Management has planted a variety of plants such as paulownia, magnolia, ginkgo, jellyfish, walnut, hawthorn, cherry, peach, pear as well as arbor plants and the shrubs such as rose, cloves, etc. The school buildings have been surrounded by greenery and flowers. The teachers and students have developed a habit of loving nature and protecting the campus ecology.

The graduation forest planted each year carries the hope of graduates as well as the witness the growth and success of YSU students.
