[News from the News Center] On the morning, Apr. 23, the delegation from Tangshan Delong Steel Co. Ltd. (Delong Steel) visited YSU. Kong Xiangdong, YSU Vice President, met with Chen Zhili, Deputy General Manager of Delong Steel, and his delegation at the No. 2 Reception Room, Century Building. Leaders from Science and Technology Research Institute, the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Arts and Design, School of Continuing Education, and Technology Transfer Center.

Kong Xiangdong welcomed the delegation and introduced the overall situation of the university and characteristic disciplines. With a strong recognition of the development patterns of Delong Steel, Kong pointed out that the two sides could cooperate in more than traditional industries such as steel, strip, wire and technetiummaterials. They have a broad space of cooperation in some emerging industries such as industrial tourism, and have great potential of university-enterprise cooperation in the personnel training scientific research. Kong expressed that YSU would be willing to contribute to the development of enterprises and local economies, and he hoped that the two sides would carry out cooperation in deeper and broader fields, giving full play to the university’s advantageous resources and better serving local economy and society.

Chen Zhili introduced in detail the Delong Steel and the study-research tourism demonstration base, including geographical advantages, company scale, environmental protection, production capacity of equipment, and new models of industrial tourism. He hoped that YSU would provide support and assistance in product upgrading, tourism, personnel training, scientific research, etc., and both sides could achieve win-win cooperationwith joint efforts.
Wang Yunxiang, Director of Laoting Bureau of Commerceand Investment Promotion County, Tangshan, briefly introduced the economic development, investment policy, talent introduction and taxation in Laoting County.
Before the meeting, the delegation visited theMetastable Materials Science and Technology State Key Laboratory, the National Engineering Research Center for Equipment and Technology of Cold Strip Rolling, the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Advanced Manufacture Forming Technology and Equipment, and the Hebei Heavy Machinery Fluid Power Transmission and Control Laboratory.
Delong Steel, located in Xiangyun Island, Laoting County, Hebei Province and covering an area of 577 acres, is an exemplary enterprise for ultra-low emissions in national steel industry, a national high-tech enterprise, and a national 3A tourist attractions, which takes the lead in the profit and tax of steel per ton. At present, it is a large iron and steel complex integrated with sintering, iron making, steel making, steel rolling and oxygen production.
