[News from the News Center] In order to further promote thereformof professional postgraduate education, strengthen the engineering ability of postgraduate students, improve the teaching teams, explore an efficient university-enterprisecooperation mode, School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics signed agreements on jointly establishing postgraduate practice base with 18 technological innovative enterprises, including China Metallurgical Construction Research Institute Co., Ltd., Hebei Building Science Research Institute Co., Ltd., Xinxing Ductile Iron Pipes Co., Ltd., China Railway Shanhaiguan Bridge Group Co., Ltd. and Zhongtu International Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd.. On the afternoon, April 29, the ceremony to set up the practice bases was held in the academic lecture hall of the Century Building. Guan Yingping, director of the Graduate Office, leaders of School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, representatives of teachers and students, and representatives of each base attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Zhao Qingxin, Deputy Dean of School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics.

Du Guojun, Dean of School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, introduced the development of the School, focusing on the history, the characteristics of the disciplines and the plan of each discipline development.
Representatives from each base gave their speech one by one. They made statements from its history, development scale, performance, university-enterprise cooperation, and expectationsin the future.

On the morning, April 30, a seminar on the base constructionwas held in the Room 211, the Architecture Building. Wang Changwu, vice director of the Graduate Office, attended the seminar, which was divided into two parts. The first part focused on the comprehensive discussion of the standardization and quality assurance system for graduate students in the enterprise. And in the latter part, academic exchangeswere conducted between the university and the enterprises. 15 key teachers of the School introduced their research directions and advantages in techniques, while representatives of the enterprises introduced the research needs in the project. Those exchanges enhanced the understanding between the university and enterprises, which would play an important role in promoting the in-depth cooperation between theuniversityand enterprises.
