[News from the News Center] At 19:00, May 12, YSU 7thTalent Competition of Communist Youth League Branch was held at 109, Student Center, East Campus. After intense competition, the branch of Inorganic Non-Metallic Materials Science and Engineering 18-1 of School of Materials Science and Engineering won the first prize, the branchesMechanical Design Manufacturing and Automation 18-9 of School of Mechanical Engineering, and Visual Communication Design 18-1 of School of Arts and Design the second prizes, the branches Automation 18-1 of School of Electrical Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering 18-3 of School of Information Science and Engineering, and Communication Engineering 17-2 of Liren College the third prizes.
As one of the activities of the May Fourth Arts Festivals, the Talent Competition of Communist Youth League Branch aims to further strengthen the construction of primary organizations of the Communist Youth League, thoroughly implement the spirit of the important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and persistently carry out and practiceXi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.This year, the competition was divided into eight parts: thematic study on the Communist Youth League, sunshine sports activities, online classes, lectures, video introductions, talent exhibitions, league branch badge design, and dormitoryculture evaluation. In the end, a total of 6 outstanding branches entered the finals.
Before the finals, Li Xida, Secretary of YSU Committee of the Communist Youth League, delivered a speech to all the members of the Communist Youth League, calling on the youth to develop their intelligence and wisdom, combining lofty ideals with practical deeds, national interest and personal goals, academic achievement and strong willpower, and buildinga prosperousChina with all efforts.

Thepoetry recitation “Praisefor May Fourth Movement” by the branch Communication Engineering 17-2 of Liren College showed spirits of the young people with passion; thescene play“Grateful Heart”by the branch Visual Communication Design 18-1 of School of Arts and Design conveyedthe thanks to parents; the stage play “China’s Strength” by the branchNon-Metallic Materials Science and Engineering 18-1 of School of Materials Science and Engineeringreproduced the story of the dedication of the members of the Communist Youth League in the fire fighting in Liangshan; the song by the branch Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Automation 18-9 of School of Mechanical Engineering reflected the changes and the rapid development of China; the scene play by Automation 18-1 of School of Electrical Engineeringtook us back to the 100years ago when young students was rushing on the streets and calling for rights of the country and the nation; the song and dance by the branch Electronic Information Engineering 18-3 of School of Information Science and Engineering was full of energy and won audience’s applause.
The competition was hosted by the YSU Committee of the Communist Youth League, and jointly held by the School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Materials Science and Engineering Committees of the Communist Youth League. As one of the activities of YSU’s May Fourth Arts Festivals, the competition provided a cultural event for the members of the Communist Youth League. Besides, it helps them cultivate patriotism and revolutionary spirit, inspiresense of group honor and cohesiveness of the members, carry forward the spirit of the May Fourth Movement, inherit the fine traditions of the Communist Youth League, and constantly strive to build excellent primary organizations and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
