[News from the News Center] On the morning of June 13, the 2019 National Public Entrepreneurship Innovation Week was launched in Yuhang Dream Town, Hangzhou. The Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang attended the event and delivered an important speech. YSU student Sha Di, contestant of the fifth Chinese “Internet +” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition – “Young Red Dreaming Journey”, as the sole representative of Hebei Province university, was recommended by the Hebei Provincial Organizing Committee to participate in the event. Premier Li Keqiang met with the student representatives and shook hands with them including Sha Di. The Prime Minister cordially asked Sha Di: “Which university are you from?” Sha Di answered: “Dear Prime Minister, I am from Yanshan University in Qinhuangdao.”

Sha Di is a postgraduate student in the Department of Mechanical Design of Yanshan University and a core member of the Science and Technology Poverty Alleviation Team of the School of Mechanical Engineering. Since the day of enrollment, under the guidance of the supervisor Yan Fugang, Sha Di has consistently provided assistance to the impoverished village, Yinli Village, Yinwogou Township, Weichang County, Chengde City, and designed various models of mushroom dryers for local villagers. His authorized 2 patents helped the local villagers improve their self-confidence and make an important contribution to the science and technology poverty alleviation work of Yinli Village.

In 2019, the National Public Entrepreneurship Innovation Week was hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission, undertaken by the China Association for Science and Technology, the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and the People’s Government of Hangzhou. The “Double Creation” activity week lasted until June 19. During the one-week period, key events such as launching ceremony, theme display, dream building service station and special town experience were held. Representatives from 32 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions participated in the series activities.
