[News from the News Center] September 5-7, sponsored by China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, the 3rd China Metallurgical Mining Machinery Industry Industrial Upgrading and Development Summit Forum (CMMF2019) was successfully held in our school, from famous universities and research institutes in the country. A total of more than 150 representatives from corporate experts attended the forum.

On September 6, the main forum of the conference was held in lecture hall 108 of the fourth teaching building, East Campus. The conference was presided over by Wang Jisheng, vice chairman and secretary general of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association. Zhao Xianfeng, YSU Party Secretary, gave a welcome speech. Zhao Xianfeng expressed warm congratulations on the organization of the forum. He introduced the basic development of YSU’s development history and achievements. He said that China's metallurgical mining machinery industry is facing new opportunities and challenges. Innovation, green development, scientific development, integrated development and high-quality development have become the main development directions. He hopes this forum will be a fruitful academic event.

A total of 11 experts gave the reports in the main forum, including Chi Jingdong, vice president of China Iron and Steel Association, Kong Xiangzhong, executive vice president of China Cement Association, Meng Feng, director of mechanical and electrical center of National Energy Group Coal Industry Center among others.

On the morning of September 7, the metallurgical machinery sub-forum and the mining machinery sub-forum were held in the conference Rooms 101 and Room 104 of the School of Electrical Engineering. Xie Donggang, the former chairman of China Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Huang Huagui, deputy Dean of Research Institute among others made academic exchanges on the development status of metallurgical machinery and mining machinery industry. In the afternoon, the experts also visited ourNational Engineering Research Center for Equipment and Technology of C.S.R., National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Advanced Manufacture Forming Technology and Equipment, and Hebei Key Laboratory of Heavy Machinery Fluid Power Transmission and Control.

The success of this forum has played an important role in recognizing the development situation of the heavy machinery industry, clarifying the professional development ideas, accelerating the pace of industrial transformation and upgrading of China’s metallurgical mining machinery industry, and promoting the scientific and technological progress of the metallurgical mining machinery industry. In addition, as one of the series of events that celebrated the 100th anniversary of the establishment of YSU and the independent school, the forum has enhanced the influence of our university in related disciplines and consolidated the academic status of the university in the metallurgical machinery industry.
