[News from the News Center] On the morning, Nov. 16, YSU held theresearch-study activity for the young pioneers together with Qinhuangdao Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League (CYL). Dong Fei, Secretary of the Qinhuangdao Municipal Committee of the CYL, XueChuanjia, Deputy Secretary of the YSUCommittee of the CYL, Wang Xi, Director of the School and Youth Pioneer Office of the Qinhuangdao Municipal Committee of the CYL, and leaders of Qinhuangdao Youth Palace attended the activities, as well as more than 50 young pioneers from county and district in Qinhuangdao.

This activity began with the flag-raising ceremony by YSU National Flag Guard. Then, Yang Tingrui gave a speech on behalf of the young pioneers, and all the pioneers reviewed the oath led by Wang Sanping, expressing their love for the country.
After the ceremony, the young pioneers first came to the YSU Library, where they visited the reading rooms of social sciences and periodicals, and learned how to borrow books under the teacher’s explanation. Seeing their big brothers and sisters focused on reading, the children experienced not onlythe college lifebut also the strong academic atmosphere. Their second destination came to YSU School of Mechanical Engineering, where the robot innovation team brought a unique performance of robots to the children. They were shocked by the engineering robots, infantry robots and drones, which are independently developed by YSU students, and they were eager to try operation by themselves. Later, the pioneers took the school bus to the East Campus to visit the Scientific Quality-Oriented Education Base at YSU Liren College. There, they watched the 3D printing and inserting robots. Finally, the Jumping Team of the YSU School of Economics and Management presented a fancy skipping performance for the children. The team also taught the children how to skip. This research-study activityended in a pleasant atmosphere of team building games, and the children spent a pleasant and meaningful weekend morning.
Through the research-study activity, the young pioneers were organized to enter the campus, enabling them to close understand YSU, personally experience the campus culture, get inspired and expand their horizon. As a university in Qinhuangdao, YSU has always been actively taking social responsibility for a long time, giving full play to the university’s function of serving the society and making its own contribution to the elementary education.
