School of Arts and Design of our university wins 27 awards, including 5 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 13 third prizes, and 2 excellence prizes, in the8thNational College Digital Art & Design Awards (NCDA). The student works guided by teachers of Wang Nianwen, Ou Xinjun, Zhang Yanmei, Yang Zhihong, Wang Zeye, and Hu Jianying won the first prize; by teachers of Lu Ying and Hou Shijiang won the second and third prizes; teacher Sun Ke won the third prize of the Excellent Teacher Individual Award, and YSU won the Outstanding Contribution Award.

The NCDA is hosted by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and organized by the NACG Digital Art Talent Training Project Office and Future Designer, which is one of the most influential professional competitions that attract college students. It is a well-known event in the field of Art and Design, and has been reported by authoritative media such as the Xuexi.cn, China Education News, and People’s Daily Online. The competition aligns with the goals of the United Nations sustainable development and was appreciated by the United Nations agencies. In 2019, it was invited to the United Nations European Headquarters in Geneva to hold and excellent work exhibition. In 2020, it was selected into the “The National University Disciplinary Competition Rankings” by China Higher Education Association. The competition’s leading role can be seen from its significant influence, for example the contestants are from 90% of the top 100 universities.
