Discipline Development and Research Achievements

After 40 years of development, the SEM has formed a high-level talent development system. The school has six departments and eight undergraduate programs in Economics and Management – its two major disciplines. The SEM offers two first-level doctoral programs in Management Science and Engineering and in Business Administration, a Post-doctoral program in Management Science and Engineering, three first-level postgraduate programs in Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration, and Applied Economics, and four professional master’s degree programs in MEM, MBA, MPAcc、and MF4. The school also has a national brand specialty in Tourism Management and a provincial key discipline in Management Science and Engineering.

The SEM has seven research institutes, including the provincial Engineering Technology Research Center, the Hebei Province Collaborative Innovation Center, the provincial Soft Science Research Base, the Hebei Province Humanities and Social Sciences Key Research Base, the provincial Teaching Demonstrative Center, the YSU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Center, and the YSU Finance and Accounting Research Center.

The SEM has conducted over 27 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 11 projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China, and more than 400 provincial and ministerial-level projects. The SEM faculties were granted over 100 research awards. The faculty members have published 1200 quality research papers, 750 CSSCI indexed papers, 70 SSCI/SCI indexed papers, and 150 EI papers. Furthermore, they have published 80 monographs while over 60 Political Advisory Reports received recognition from the leadership at both provincial and city levels.
