【News from News Center】Recently, the result of 2016 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling(CUMCM) was officially announced. YSU students overcame all obstacles and wontwo first-classnational prizes and six second-classnationalprizes.CUMCMattractedmore than 93000 studentsin31199 teams from1367 academies in33 provinces, cities and autonomous regions (including Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Region) and Singapore.

Over the years, YSUattaches great importance to mathematical modeling contest.Fromlast December,the Office of Academic Affairs,College ofScience and other departmentsmadethe year-long efforts on publicity, phase selection and training, and finally selected 165 studentsforthe national contest. In Hebei Contest Division, YSUwon13 first prizes and 19 second prizes.

It is a synthesized contest thatrequires participantsto solve practicalproblems by applying mathematical knowledge.Students, after the contest, improved a lot inself-reliance,innovationand teamwork.
