Presided over by Xue Chuanjia, Director of Student Affairs Office, the graduation ceremony for Class 2022 graduates was held in 2# Stadium of Yanshan University (East Campus) on the morning of June 9 and was also broadcast live online. The event was attended by university leaders including Zhao Xianfeng, Zhao Dingxuan, Xie Yanan, Huang Sheng, Wang Baocheng, Ren Jiadong, Wang Desong, Chen Guoqiang, Yu Shujiang and Wen Guilin, with viewers including responsible persons of relevant functional departments and schools of the university, instructors and faculty representatives, marking the satisfactory completion of studies and the first step on a new journey of the graduates.

Flag-raising Ceremony

There is a strong sense of ceremony at the site decorated with arches, red carpets and photo walls, reflecting deep affections to the graduates, recalling their growth stories and dreams in YSU, and demonstrating the positive spirit of YSU students. The ceremony opened with the national anthem while the national flag-raising task was being performed by the graduates who are the former members of the Flag Guard.

Liu Lili, a Class 2022 graduate majoring in German from the School of Foreign Studies, spoke on behalf of graduates and affectionately recalled her course of hard struggle and growth in YSU, shared her memorable memory of taking her language advantages, telling Chinese stories and conveying YSU's messages as a volunteer at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games, and expressed her appreciation and sentimental attachment to YSU.

Li Jie, an associate professor at the School of Marxism, stated on behalf of teachers that lasting and true happiness has nothing to do with wealth, fame or even the length of life, but lies in a heart with richness and joy, a spirit of seeking the truth, belief and dream that one can sacrifice one’s life, cherishing the time, and making unremitting efforts and struggles.
YSU Representatives Sending Parting Blessings to Graduates
At the ceremony, representatives of teachers, instructors of graduating class, metalworking practice teachers, librarians, apartment managers, cafeteria workers and security guards who accompany and witness the growth of students and keep to their posts of education, teaching, scientific research and service sent parting blessings to the graduates respectively.
Zhao Dingxuan Speaking at the Ceremony
Zhao Dingxuan, president of Yanshan University, gave the graduates an unforgettable "last lecture" themed "Strive forward and work perseveringly in a new era for a better future". He extended warm congratulations to all graduates and heartfelt thanks to teachers, reviewed the dramatic changes of the university in the past four years, "YSU’s efforts" for the national projects and the YSU spirit demonstrated by the hard work of students, and gave three pieces of advice to the graduates: 1) Closely link personal striving with the country fortune, keep pace with the times, closely integrate the life pursuit with the country fortune, step forward to give support and undertake the due obligations at a critical time, and contribute to national rejuvenation with intelligence and wisdom. 2) Take the creative spirit as the key to the future, internalize and act out innovative thinking. With the courage of exploration, seek truth and pragmatism, keep to our posts, gradually accumulate experience in innovation and creation, and keep striving forward. 3) Take every step of life in a down-to-earth manner. Adapt ourselves to a new position and a new environment, make good schedules, keep to our pace, and walk each step with every effort. He finally stressed that the baton of the times is now in the hands of students, and wanted everybody to resolutely straighten their shoulders and face difficulties when needed by the country and people, and write their youth chapters with dedication and responsibility!
At the end of the ceremony, six representatives of graduates respectively involved in graduate education assistance group, volunteer service to western China, grass-roots work, further studies, and enlisted in the armed forces made their final reports, expressing their responsibilities of "going to the west, going to the grass-roots units, and going to the most needed areas" with their sonorous clank oath and solemn commitment.

In the familiar melodies of the university song, the leaders and guests on the rostrum stood up and waved goodbye to the graduates who together recall the good time in the university, witness this occasion and turn a new page in their life.
This ceremony was held in strict accordance with the requirements of epidemic prevention and control. Staff and students kept a safe distance in outdoor environment and wore masks throughout the process. The event met the wishes of graduates and observed the requirements of epidemic prevention and control.
