Students show deep curiosity and strong interest in studying abroad for the first time in their lives, actively explore new life and study modes, and are full of expectation and confidence in future study and life. Ma Yihao said that he is not afraid at all of studying in a foreign country, because the support is provided by the powerful motherland behind, and after studying the report of the 20th National Congress overseas, he feels deeply impressed. Peng Yihui said that as a proverb goes, “reading thousands of books, and traveling thousands of miles”, the landscapes and customs different from the motherland enrich his own experiences and effectively urge him to rely on himself and learn independently. Liu Haoran said that as a Chinese student majoring in automation, he should study professional knowledge hard, keep upright and innovative, and make continuous progress towards the goal of building a digital China with self-reliance and strength in science and technology.

To better ensure the smooth and successful travel, the YSUEI carried out the online and offline pre-travel trainings. With safety and stability as the core, enthusiasm and care as the purpose, and needs of students as the criterion, a variety of pre-travel trainings have been carried out, including national security and confidentiality awareness, Chinese traditional culture, Polish legal culture and customs, learning methods for courses taught in English, visa processing procedures, pre-travel preparations, etc. The first lesson for going abroad is intended to ensure that students are well prepared for the travel, and encourage students to stick to the Chinese cultural stand, tell Chinese stories well, spread Chinese voices well, and make due contributions to promoting Sino-Polish cultural exchanges and popularizing the Chinese culture to the world. The YSUEI has prepared a warm-hearted travel package, wishing the students a successful completion of their three-year study in Poland.

In view of the special situation caused by COVID-19, and in order to ensure the safety of students during the journey, the relevant staff of YSU and YSUEI repeatedly discussed the journey plan and emergency plan, arranged the shuttle service and travel guidance intimately, and sent the outbound students directly from the airport to the dormitory of the YSUEI without any stop, thus minimizing personnel contact. In order to ensure the safety and stability of students in Poland, YSU has assigned one executive dean and one counselor to work in Poland, who are responsible for the comprehensive communication of teaching, training, curriculum setting, international market development and other work with YSUEI, and the daily management of students in Poland.

It is reported that the YSUEI, as the first overseas education institute of YSU, enrolled students for the first time in 2021. The first 61 students have completed one year's study in the main campus of YSU, and arrived in the YSUEI in this October for the next three years of study. During the three years, they will attend all-English teaching classes with European students. In 2022, the YSUEI enrolled a total of 112 freshmen, with the enrollment scale and the quality of students greatly improved, and the social influence of the YSUEI continues to expand. For the sake of cultivating high-level compound talents with international vision and global competitiveness, and constantly improving the international influence and the level of education opening to the outside world, the YSUEI will always follow the light ahead and overcome the challenge. Two-way efforts to "bring in" and "go out" in talent training, and development in double circulation at home and abroad will further contribute to the "double first-class" construction of YSU.
