Recently, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) has issued the document Reply on Agreeing to Accredit the HOME Program Base of the China Association for Science and Technology. After a series of strict selection process, , Yanshan University (YSU) was officially approved as the 2022 HOME Program (Help Our Motherland through Elite Intellectual Resources from Overseas Program, also known as “Haizhi Plan”) Base established by CAST. This is the first time that YSU has been approved by the national-level platform of CAST, and it was also the first university in Hebei Province to be approved for this platform.
The CAST’s HOME Program Base is a national-level platform that focuses on building relationships and providing services for international scientific and technological talents. It is a technology service organization relying on domestic and international scientific and technological groups, parks, enterprises, higher educational institutions and research institutions In order to implement the spirit of the central conference on talent-related work, this organization aims at improving national attraction and cohesion to global talents, creating a favorable environment for scientists and professionals and accelerating China’s upgrade toward a major world center of talent and innovation.
In recent years, while actively promoting scientific and technological innovation, YSU also speeds up the construction of science and technology associations. With full supports from all relevant departments and joint efforts of all colleges, a series of innovative work has beenaccomplished . In 2022, the University was approved for the first time as a "Demonstration Unit for the Construction of the Home of Science and Technology Workers in Hebei Province", demonstrating our efforts in servicing talented workers. In the same year, three science popularization education bases of Hebei province (Hebei Provincial Physics Education Base, Hebei Provincial Intelligent Manufacturing Popular Science Education Base, and Hebei Provincial Hydraulic and Pneumatic Technology Popular Science Education Base) were newlyfounded in YSU to continuously improve its science and technology popularization service capabilities. With the latest approval of the CAST’s HOME Program Base, YSU will firmly implement the China Association for Science and Technology HOME Program Base (Yanshan University) Construction Planin accordance with theChina Association for Science and Technology HOME Program Base Management Measuresand other relevant regulations. The university is committed to strengthen the base construction, carry out talent recruitment plans, improve talent training programand promote international cooperation. YSU will play a leading role in developing the HOME Program and upgrading its innovation capabilities and services for economic and social developments.
