VALIANT Yoga Mat Speaker, designed and developed by the team led by Wang Nianwen from YSU’s School of Arts and Design in conjunction with Shenzhen Dooo Design Co., Ltd. and Zhongshan Sowu Living Goods Co., Ltd., was listed among the winners of German iF Design Award 2024, the top international industrial design award, announced on March 12.

VALIANT Yoga Mat Speaker, an accessory of yoga mat equipped with four 2” full-band loudspeaker units, can be connected with mobile phone through Bluetooth. Space for placing mobile phone is reserved to ensure good sound quality and satisfactory volume for users watching videos, as well as comfortable human-computer interaction experience and concentrated and pleasant exercise atmosphere. The speaker has a simple shape and practical functions, highlighting the unique design concept, simple and practical life attitude and concern for lifestyle in the post-epidemic era. Highly recognized by 132 authoritative international design reviewers from 23 countries, it stood out and won the iF Design Award among tens of thousands of design works from 72 countries and regions around the world.
This is the fourth time that the Department of Industrial Design, the School of Arts and Design has won the iF Design Award, which not only shows the recognition of the international industrial design community for the product itself, but also proves the strength of our national first-class major of Industrial Design in the field of international industrial design. It also demonstrates the remarkable achievements made by the School of Arts and Design in persistent teaching reform, innovative teaching mode and improved teaching practice in recent years.
Founded in 1953, German iF Design Award is organized every year by iF Industrie Forum Design, the oldest industrial design organization in Germany. It is famous for its "independent, rigorous and reliable" award concept. Together with the German Red Dot Award and International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), it is one of the "world’s top three design awards ", and also known as the "Oscar Award for the design industry", setting the trend for the global design industry.
