Yanshan University Organizes the “Silk Road Imprints - Art Exhibition by Six Artists”

In order to fully leverage the museum’s important function of aesthetic and cultural education in the colleges and universities, enrich on-campus cultural life and create a good atmosphere for on-campus aesthetic education, the opening ceremony of the “Silk Road Imprints - Art Exhibition by Six Artists” was held on March 21 at the Northeast Asia Silk Road Civilization Museum, Yanshan University.

The ceremony was attended by Zhao Xianfeng, Secretary of the CPC Yanshan University Committee, Wang Yanmei, Chairman of the Qinhuangdao City Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Liu Jintang, Vice Chairman of the Qinhuangdao City Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Song Hongjun, Vice Chairman of the Qinhuangdao City Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Chairman of the Qinhuangdao Artists Association, leaders of the Qinhuangdao City Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Qinhuangdao Artists Association, Qinhuangdao Calligraphers Association, Qinhuangdao Calligraphy and Painting Academy, as well as leaders of the relevant schools and functional departments of Yanshan University. The opening ceremony was presided over by Qiao Haiguang, Chairman of the Qinhuangdao Calligraphers Association and President of the Qinhuangdao Calligraphy and Painting Academy.

In her speech, Wang Yanmei expressed warm congratulations on the opening of the art exhibition and a warm welcome to the artists present at the ceremony. She said that Yanshan University is an important pioneer of science, technology, culture and art in Qinhuangdao City, and has developed a large number of talents for the city and the whole country. Qinhuangdao will continue to develop with an open and inclusive mind, and more artists are welcome to Qinhuangdao for creation and exhibition to make further cultural achievements.

Wu Jianke mentioned that from last year’s art exhibitions of“Footsteps on the Silk Road” and “Floral Language on the Silk Road” to today’s art exhibition of “Silk Road Imprints”, this is the third time he has come to Yanshan University. He is deeply impressed by the on-campus cultural atmosphere of Yanshan University. He said that every professional artist has to consider where the spiritual home and soul destination of human beings would be. He hopes that everyone would have an artistic mind.

The exhibition started on March 21 and will end on March 31. A total of 38 works with high artistic value by six artists, namely, Wu Jianke, Song Hongjun, Zhao Lin, Deng Shuping, Zhang Zhongliang and Xu Jinhui, were displayed. This invitational exhibition aims to maintain the cultural trend of inheritance and innovation, develop the major theme of cultural education, strengthen art education, aesthetic education and science education through exhibitions and various cultural activities, promote cultural education, deeply implant patriotism, provide more diversified educational services for the faculty and students, and continuously expand the beneficiary group and enhance the educational effect of the museum.

According to sources, the ”Silk Road Imprints - Art Exhibition by Six Artists” is planned by Deng Shuping, Curator of the Northeast Asia Silk Road Civilization Museum, Yanshan University, sponsored by Yanshan University and the Qinhuangdao City Federation of Literary and Art Circles, organized by the Northeast Asia Silk Road Civilization Museum, Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao Artists Association and Qinhuangdao Calligraphers Association, and co-organized by the Office of Social Sciences, Office of International Cooperation and School of Arts and Design of Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and the Secretariat, Belt and Road Cultural Heritage Global Alliance, Yanshan University.
