IEEE Yanshan University Student Branch Officially Established

Recently, after approval by the head office of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Yanshan University Student Branch was officially established. The Student Branch was initiated by YSU doctoral and master degree candidates under the direction of Guo Xiaoqiang, Dean of YSU School of Electrical Engineering. Zhang Shiqi, a doctoral candidate from the School of Electrical Engineering, serves as the first chair of the Student Branch.

IEEE was founded in 1963. It is currently the world's largest non-profit professional technical society with over 460,000 members in more than 190 countries and regions.

As an academic student organization, the IEEE YSU Student Branch aims to promote the understanding of IEEE among postgraduate and undergraduate students, help them integrate into the mainstream academic community, enhance their communication with renowned experts and scholars in related fields, and assist student members in obtaining the latest and most cutting-edge scientific theories, engineering technologies, and other academic resources from IEEE. Through carrying out specific projects and activities, as well as hosting professional academic conferences and lectures, the Student Branch also aims to expand the scientific horizons of postgraduate and undergraduate students, and promote academic innovation among students in electrical, electronic, computer engineering, and related scientific fields. Students interested in the professional fields covered by IEEE are welcome to join the IEEE YSU Student Branch.
