[News from the News Center] On the afternoon of October 15, the conference for the application of 2020 National Natural Science Foundation was held in the lecture hall on the 18th floor of the Century Building. Wang Desong, YSU vice president, Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology and related staff of scientific research management attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Zhao Tieshi, Dean of the School of Science and Technology.

At the meeting, Huang Huagui, the Deputy Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology, gave a detailed introduction to the organization, tasks of each stage, timetable, and relating measures of the application of 2020 National Natural Science Foundation. Subsequently, the signing ceremony was held at the conference. On behalf of YSU, Wang Desong signed the task assignments with Deans of each school.
In his concluding remarks, Wang Desong proposed the “One object, two clarifications and three focuses” deployment and requirements for the application of National Natural Science Foundation project. At the same time, we must build confidence and recognize the reality. Clearly affirm the scientific research strength of each school in the field of basic scientific research, as well as the efforts and achievements of the research institutes and schools in the past applications. Finally, in the specific implementation, we must always emphasize the social influence of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and its importance to the development of science and technology in schools; emphasize the importance of completing the application, which means significantly to the construction of “Double-first Class” university.
It is hoped that the each school will follow the requirements of the “Yanshan University 2020 National Natural Science Foundation Project Application Organization”, give full play to the autonomy of the two-level management of the school, and actively mobilize and carefully plan and formulate the implementation rules in light of the actual situation of the school. The application would contribute to construction of “Double-first Class” university as well asYSU’s 100thanniversary.
