[News from the News Center] On October 14, the National Key R&D Program “Robot Automated Production Demonstration Line for Customized Woodwork Furniture Manufacturing” with YSU Prof. Hua Changchun as the Principal Investigator (PI) was held in Hai’an, Jiangsu Province. Wang Desong, YSU Vice President, Gu Guobiao, Secretary of Hai’an Municipal Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Mayor Yu Lizhong, key experts of the project, the experts for the Feasibility study, PI, and key members of the participating units attended the kick-off meeting.

At the ceremony, Huachun Changchun announced the list of general experts, technical expert group and user group, and issued a letter of appointment to the experts. Liu Chengliang, an expert from Shanghai Jiaotong University, on behalf of the project management agency of the Science and Technology, gave a detailed introduction to the issues that should be paid attention to during project management and implementation. At the subsequent meeting, the project team conducted a report on the overall implementation plan. After questioning and discussion, the expert group affirmed the project technical and implementation plans, and also proposed the specific implementation of the project research plan and the procedures. Wang Desong as the admin of the project and the Deputy Director of the overall team participated in the argumentation meeting.

The national key R &D plan “Robot Automated Production Demonstration Line for Customized Woodwork Furniture Manufacturing” project belongs to the national key R&D plan “Intelligent Robot” key project, led by Nantong Yuetong CNC Equipment Co., Ltd., and Huachun Changchun, YSU School of Electrical Engineering is the PI. There are five topics, two of which are headed by our YSU teachers. The project is aimed at the large-scale decoration and customized woodworking furniture manufacturing needs, and builds a rapid design software system and a full-process intelligent management and control system, and develops large-span high-precision curved-arm gantry robots, high-speed stacking robots, flexible and precise assembly robots, etc. Jointly undertaking the “Application Demonstration Research” project with key industry enterprises can reflect YSU’s comprehensive strength in the field of intelligent robot research, but also reflects YSU’s social service ability in response to the national innovation-driven development strategy and actively promotes the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
