Discipline Building and Research Achievements
The SAD attaches great importance to academic development, and actively engages in a variety of teaching and research activities. The school has 10 provincial-level teaching and research practice platforms and bases, 10 university-level institutes in humanities and social sciences, 9 off-campus entrepreneur centers, and 35 studioswith theircharacteristics. The school has had achievements in the following fields: innovation in industrial design, environmental planning, cultural heritage, tourism development, and folk music. The school’s teachers have published over 400 academic papers and more than 50 monographs and textbooks. They haveundertaken3 national-level projects, as well as over 200 research projects and 200 university-enterprise cooperation projects. The SAD won the Germany’s “Red Dot Award: Best of the Best”, which has the reputation of being an Oscar Award in design field.
