Discipline Development and Research Achievements

ECE has PhD program in Chemical Engineering and Technology and a Post-doc program in Chemical Engineering and Technology as well as MA programs in Chemical Engineering and Technology, Chemistry, Environmental Science and Engineering, Chemical Process Machinery, and Chemical Engineering.

ECE’s Applied Chemistry is the provincial key discipline and the “Applied Chemistry Laboratory” is the key laboratory of Hebei Province. ECE also has a “Petrochemical Industry Undergraduate Education Innovation Center” of Hebei Province, the “Teaching Demonstrative Center” of Hebei Province, and the “Chemical Industry Virtual Simulation Teaching Center”. ECE has some provincial brand specialties such as “Applied Chemistry” and “Chemical Process Machinery”. ECE faculty were honored some awards for their inspiring teaching practices.  

ECE has undertaken more than 340 research projects at different levels with research fund of 10 million RMB. ECE faculties were awarded one second prize of the National Award for Technological Invention, National Natural Science Award, one second prize of National Technology Invention Award, 9 first prizes, 17 second prizes, 10 third prizes at provincial level among other 40 science and technology awards both at provincial and ministerial levels.ECE scholars were awarded one second prize of the National Award for Technological Invention, one first prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, and other five provincial awards as well as 120 invention patents. ECE has published 120 SCI-indexed papers annually. In 2018, ECE’s specialty of Chemistry was listed ESI international top 1%, and according to the ESI of Clarivate Analytics by 2019, 240 papers of ECE are selected in the list of Highly Cited Papers.
