[News from News Center] Hebei Science & Technology Award Conference was held in Hebei Hall, Shijiazhuang on May 25th. 280 scientific achievements and individuals were granted 2016 Hebei Science and Technology Awards, including: 2 Hebei Outstanding Contribution Awards for Science and Technology, 25 Hebei Natural Science Awards, 17 Hebei Technological Innovation Awards, and 231 Hebei Science and Technology ProgressAwards. Prof. Yongjun Tian won Hebei Outstanding Contribution Award for Science and Technology; Prof. Fucheng Zhang, with his research “High-Quality Steel for Frog on High-Speed and Heavy-Load Railways and Its Key Manufacturing Technology” won the First Prize of Hebei Technological Innovation Award; Prof. Xiangdong Kong, with his research “Design Theory and Control Technology for Hydraulic Units of Highly Integrated Valve and Cylinder” won the First Prize of Hebei Science and Technology Progress Award. Besides, YSU won 2 Second Prizes of HebeiTechnological Innovation Award, 2 Second Prizes and 4 Third Prizes of Hebei Science and Technology Progress Award, and 4 Third Prizes of Hebei Natural Science Award.

Kezhi Zhao, Secretary of Hebei Provincial Party Committee, Qin Xu, Governor of Hebei Province, and other provincial leaders attended the conference. Governor Xu read out“Decisions of The People's Government of Hebei Province on 2016 Hebei Science and Technology Awards”. Secretary Zhao presented awards and certificates to winners of Hebei Outstanding Contribution Award for Science and Technology: Prof. Yongjun Tian from YSU, and Engineer Qiangguo Lu fromChenguang Biotech Group. Subsequently, other provincial leaders presented awards to the winners of Hebei Natural Science Award, Hebei Technological Innovation Award, and Hebei Science and Technology Progress Award.

Prof. Yongjun Tian delivered a speech on behalf of award-winners. He briefly reviewed his research and the achievements of his team, and stated that his team will make persistent efforts to contribution to technological advancement of Hebei.
In 2016, YSU organized a total of 18 achievements to participate in the selection for Hebei Province Science and Technology Award. 14 were awarded eventually after form examination, online evaluation, industry evaluation and general defense. In addition to 2 First Prizes, YSU received 2 Second Prizes of Hebei TechnologyInvention for “Research on Theory and Technology of Thermal Microscopic Imaging System Based on Optical Micro Scanning” and “Research on Integrated Quality Control Technology of Coiling and Uncoiling of Hot-Rolled and Cold-Rolled Strip”; 2 Second Prizes of Hebei Science and Technology Progress Award for “Performance Analysis and Visual Monitoring Technology of Parallel Robot Mechanism” and “Research and Application of Nonlinear Coupled Vibration Suppression of Plate and Strip Mill and Early Faults Diagnosis Technology”, 4 Third Prizes of Hebei Science and Technology Progress Award for “Research on Key Inspection Technology in Industrial Transportation Process Based on Machine Vision Technology”, “Influence of Large-scale Photovoltaic Access on Distribution Network in North Hebei and Its Countermeasures”,“Research on Detection Method of Water Environment Pollutant Based on Spectral Mechanism”, and “Creep Active Control Technology of Pre-stressed Concrete Components and Its Application”; and 4 Third Prizes of Hebei Natural Science Award for “Fundamental and Experimental Research on New Photonic Devices Based on Photonic Crystal Fiber”, “Design, Structural Regulation and Functional Characterization of New Self-Assembled Nanomaterials”, “Microstructure Refinement/Nano crystallization of Steel and Its Effect on Performance”, and “Modeling and Optimization Control for Complex Industrial Processes Based on Artificial Intelligence Theory”.
The 280 winning projects (individuals) include 2 Outstanding Contribution Awards for Science and Technology, 25 Natural Science Awards (3 First Prizes, 8 Second Prizes, 14 Third Prizes), 17 Technological Invention Awards (2 First Prizes, 7 Second Prizes, 8 Third Prizes), 231 Science and Technology Progress Awards (25 First Prizes, 80 Second Prizes, 126 Third Prizes), and 5 International Science and Technology Cooperation Awards.
