On the afternoon of April 28, "Learning in China - the Sino-foreign Postgraduates Academic Forum 2022 Yanshan University" was successfully held through online live broadcast. The forum was hosted by the School of International Education, and attended by the leaders of the Graduate School, School of Foreign Studies, School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics and School of Arts and Design. Seven Chinese and foreign postgraduates from three schools were invited to give academic reports at the forum. The forum was presided over by Jiang Lian, Vice Dean of the School of International Education.

Zhao Yanzhi, Vice Dean of the Graduate School, delivered an opening speech for the forum. He fully affirmed the innovative form of this forum, hoping that this forum can promote Chinese and foreign postgraduates to "learn from classmates", "innovate in the same room" and "compete on the same stage", accelerate the international development of postgraduate education in YSU, and cultural and academic exchanges between China and foreign countries, enhance the postgraduates' innovative consciousness and ability, improve the intersection and integration of disciplines, and make efforts to build YSU into a domestic first-class and world-famous research university with distinctive characteristics.

Seven Chinese and foreign postgraduates, including Zhang Tingting and Ma Le (Congolese) from the School of Foreign Studies, Wang Ning, Na Yunfei (Ivorian) and Ma Fei (Zambian) from the School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, Guo Qihan and Li Jingmei (Korean) from the School of Arts and Design, respectively gave reports and speeches on their learning experiences, research directions and methods. Fu Jilin, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, Hao Shengwang, Vice Dean of the School of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, and Liu Weishang, Vice Dean of the School of Arts and Design, respectively gave wonderful comments and guidance on the contents of the report.
Zhang Wenli, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, made a concluding speech. She said that the purpose of holding this forum is to enhance the cultural understanding and promote the academic and cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign postgraduates, and build a platform for everyone to think, study and communicate across cultures. She expressed the hope that Chinese and foreign postgraduates can strengthen the cooperation and study hard, make contribution to the social development and national prosperity, and make efforts to the "Double First-class" construction of YSU.
Up to now, two sessions of The Sino-foreign Postgraduates Academic Forum have been successfully held. With the goal of "improving quality and efficiency", the School of International Education will continue to promote the cultural exchange and integration between China and foreign countries, create an international academic atmosphere and enhance the international education level in accordance with the requirements of the Specification of Higher Education Quality for International Students in China.
