On the morning of June 9, the exhibition themed "Olympic Dreams • Road of Voluntary Service • Patriotism" opened in the History Museum of Yanshan University. The opening ceremony was attended by university leaders including Li Guoqiang, Deputy Mayor of Qinhuangdao City, Zhao Xianfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and Zhao Dingxuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, and was presided over by Ren Jiadong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University.
Speech by Zhao Dingxuan
In his opening speech, Zhao Dingxuan expressed his heartfelt thanks to the relevant departments of Hebei Province and Qinhuangdao City for their long-term care, help and full support for the development of YSU’s undertakings. He pointed out that relying on the local unique geographical advantages and rich sports and cultural resources, and with its cultural gene, craftsmanship spirit, excellent quality and patriotism, YSU has never missed major national sports and cultural events, especially in the service assurance of Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games where it delivered a good report for the new era. He stated that historical archives should be kept to help govern the country and educate the people. By vividly reproducing the history of Qinhuangdao City and teachers and students of the university serving major national sports events, the exhibition is a useful practice of holding high-quality exhibitions jointly by the university and the municipal government to better meet people's needs for a better life, as well as a significant outcome of rooting patriotism and Olympic culture on campus. He hoped that with this opportunity, all YSUers would continue to vigorously carry forward the spirit of Beijing Olympic Winter Games, fulfil their cultural character, and contribute to the city's efforts in accelerating the construction of a world-class tourist city and the country’s efforts in fulfilling the Chinese dream of great national rejuvenation.
Speech by Li Guoqiang
In his speech, Li Guoqiang pointed out that the archives of Olympic games are not only the historical records of Beijing holding Summer and Winter Olympics, but also an important witness of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. He said that a famous city would feed elite schools which in turn would nourish the city. As the university with the largest number of people serving the Winter Olympics in the province, YSU has successfully completed its service tasks, and has been commended by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the Organizing Committee of Beijing Winter Olympics, People’s Government of Hebei Province and other departments at all levels, and highly affirmed and praised by all sectors of society. This is its glory and the pride of the city. He hoped that the archives administrative departments of the university and the city would jointly arrange, keep and make good use of the Olympics archives, further integrate their resources, deepen their cooperation and complement each other's advantages, so as to make new and greater contributions to building the city into a strong city of sports and a world-class tourist city, and promoting the great development and prosperity of the city culture.

Huang Sheng Donating Archives of Winter Olympics to Qinhuangdao Municipal Archives on Behalf of Yanshan University
YSU has produced numerous archives in the process of serving Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. These precious data of Winter Olympics are the common valuable wealth of Yanshan University and Qinhuangdao City. In order to further strengthen the university-city cooperation and jointly arrange, keep and make good use of the Winter Olympics archives, Huang Sheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, donated a group of Winter Olympics archives including thank-you lanterns received by volunteers at the closing ceremony to Qinhuangdao Municipal Archives on behalf of the university, and Director Du Lianyan accepted donations on behalf of Qinhuangdao Municipal Archives.

Leaders Visiting the Exhibition
The exhibition is jointly organized by Committee of Yanshan University of Communist Youth League, Yanshan University Archives (History Museum), Qinhuangdao Municipal Archives Bureau, Qinhuangdao Municipal Archives, Qinhuangdao Municipal Sports Bureau and Qinhuangdao Municipal Committee of Communist Youth League. It comprises five chapters and eight parts, and is based on the timeline of the city and the university serving 1990 Beijing Asian Games, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and 2022 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. By means of material objects, pictures, data, works, audios and videos, it vividly reproduces the history of the city and the university serving major national sports events, especially the course of participating in and serving the Olympic Winter Games. The exhibition aims to strongly support the spirit of Beijing Olympic Winter Games, boost the spark of struggle and dedication with precious Winter Olympics heritage, and gather strength for "Together for a Shared Future".
During our service to Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, our Youth League Committee and Archives (History Museum) began to prepare and plan for the exhibition, and decided to take 32 years of voluntary service as the main line to showcase the contributions made by our teachers and students in the 2022 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, to pay tribute to volunteers and to demonstrate our consistent patriotism. The preparation was strongly supported by Qinhuangdao Municipal Archives Bureau, Qinhuangdao Municipal Archives, Qinhuangdao Municipal Sports Bureau and Qinhuangdao Municipal Committee of Communist Youth League, and finally completed through efforts by six parties. This exhibition will last until November 9.
