From February 1 to 4, the first batch of teachers and students of YSU went to Shanghai and participated in the Preparatory Camp of Interns to International Organization in the winter vocation of 2023 sponsored by Shanghai Cultural Exchange Center and successfully completed the camp. Eleven teachers and students from the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of Humanities and Law and School of Foreign Studies exchanged ideas and studied with more than 50 outstanding students from the universities such as Minzu University of China and Shandong University. Through a series of activities, such as field visits, lectures, group performances, and interaction with heads of international organizations, participants have increased the understanding of international organizations, cultivated the awareness of internationalization, and broadened international horizons.
Preparatory Camp of Interns to International Organization is carried out online and offline. In May 2022, 10 outstanding students of YSU were successfully selected into the preparatory camp after self-registration, recommendation by school and interview selection, and completed online course from May 28 to July 20, 2022. In online courses, students listened to the thematic reports such as Analysis of How to Meet Internship Requirements of International Organizations and the Road to Career Development of International Civil Servants and International Organizations. Relevant staff of the World Historic and Cultural Canal Cities Cooperation Organization, Yangtze River Delta Cooperation Center of Europe-China Cooperation Committee, Shanghai Global Science & Technology Innovation Center of the Global Innovation Network Project of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the CCP12 respectively introduced the basic situation, operation mode and talent demand of international organizations. Interns from international organizations also shared their internship experience in the United Nations.
Online course learning
The offline session originally scheduled for the summer of 2022 was changed to the winter vacation of 2023 due to COVID-19 pandemic. 10 students led by the teacher of Office of International Cooperation went to Shanghai to participate in the offline session of the preparatory camp, which was also the first offline student project group funded and sent by YSU since the pandemic. During their stay in Shanghai, participants visited the international organizations such as Yangtze River Delta Cooperation Center of Europe-China Cooperation Committee, Council for South-South Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Shanghai Global Science & Technology Innovation Center of the Global Innovation Network Project of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and listened to the lectures given by Shen Xia, representative of Yangtze River Delta Cooperation Center of Europe-China Cooperation Committee, Hong Yongqing, director of Council for South-South Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Chen Bin, expert of the Global Innovation Network Project of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and learned the omni-channel model of international cross-border e-commerce industrial park, diplomatic etiquette culture, organizations of United Nations and European Union, UN Sustainable Development Goals for ESG and the cases. In addition, participants also visited the Memorial Hall and the site of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China, received patriotic education, and had a deeper understanding of the feelings of home and country.

As a university to develop the high-level international talent training innovation practice base of the Ministry of Education, YSU attaches great importance to the talent training of international organizations, and has carried out 9 relevant courses, lectures and other projects, covering more than 3,000 teachers and students. This Preparatory Camp of Interns to International Organization has effectively broadened the international vision of students, enhanced their understanding of international organizations, and increased their confidence in becoming global talents. In addition, it has also cultivated students' awareness and ability to look at issues from the perspective of international civil servants, and strongly promoted the training of international organization talents in the university.
